Nightingal

One of the luminary beings who walked the realm as a creature of mystery and astoundment. The Lumis Aelves were seen as gods throughout the 2nd Era. They resembled the common elf but stood almost ten heads tall and radiated light from inside of their chests.   Nightingal was seen as an aspect of beauty among her kind, when she walked passed a mortal, they would stop and watch as the revered figure graced their sight. Many stories from that time are only legend now, retold tales of changing narrative and point of view.   It is whispered that the intitial sin of Gaul was that they sought what was unreachable, the pursuit of Nightingal herself. As the Lumis Elves were gods that walked among the mortals, this too had a risk. A gaulan man who fell in love with the idea of Nightingal, attacked her percieved partner and killed him with a weapon of legend still not known to this day, for what blade could carve the immortal skin of the Ealdur. This event caused the calamity that would become the Thousand Years of Silence as the first Onyx Aelfe was created from the husk of the dead Lumis.   Nightingal is not referenced in any stories after the Slaying, if she was nearby then she may have been on of the first turned empty when her alleged partner began killing his own kind and creating more Onyx Aelves. Their distortion into the shadow beasts that would ravage the land would be gradual so even Nightingal’s beauty was lost to the Silence.
