Knox Bolterest
Knox Bolterest is a wiry forest gnome with soot-streaked cheeks and a habit of muttering to his weapon as though it might answer back. His flintlock, a patchwork of brass and whirring gears, was built piece by piece in the cramped backroom of his family’s workshop. Each shot it fires lets out a hiss of steam and a puff of copper smoke.
He wears his welding goggles even indoors, one lens cracked and perpetually smudged. Strapped to his belt are flash bombs—his preferred method for ending a fight before it properly begins. Among the Outrider mercenaries, Knox is valued not only for his marksmanship but for his knack with improvised devices. He’ll fix a wagon axle with the same precision he uses to disable a crossbow trap, usually while cursing at whoever designed it.
