Illuir
Illuir carries the habits of her old crew even after years on land. She moves lightly, always watching exits, always ready to slip out of a room if the mood shifts. Her dark skin is marked with sharp white tattoos that follow the lines of ribs, collarbones, and jaw—signs of her former calling, when she served as a witch doctor aboard a raiding vessel. She was seen casting an illusion during training: a corridor folded into a spiral, shadows warped into grasping figures, and every student in the room lost their sense of direction until she snapped her fingers. She keeps bone charms at her belt, trophies from storms survived and foes frightened off, though she claims they’re only there to keep her hands busy. The Spellstrung Magi Guild brought her in for her talent, but they keep her for her blunt guidance; she refuses to coddle students and isn’t shy about naming a spell sloppy. Despite that edge, she hasn’t returned to the sea since joining the Guild. She says she’s teaching the young so they won’t have to make the choices she once did.
