Ictic

Ictic carried himself like a creature who trusted raw instinct more than reason. Even among Bone Ogres, he looked worn down—scarred knuckles, ash-stained teeth, and a constant chemical reek from the vats he kept bubbling in his tent. He was the leader of the heretics of the Badlands Tribe, though his training under a Seeker oracle left him with sharper insight than most gave him credit for.
When he worked, he handled his purple moth specimens with unsettling care, whispering to them as their wings shed the dust that warped essence flow. His loyalty to Pyrus was the sort that needed no words, and he followed the bone-plated brute from the Hearthic Invasion all the way to its defeat, Ictic continued his experiments and ritual in the bleak slopes of Gyaron. As they chose the losing side, they were not allowed home as their defeat shamed them,
At Camp Krakatoa Ictic experimemted on wild creatures, finding ways to twist their magic into monstrous properties. He treated the hatchling owl griffons as if they were nothing more than components—measured, weighed, and tested, their cries drowned out by the hissing of heated glass.
The Seekers once again sought him out in the mountains to test w theory on his moth creatures. Ictic believed them to be hostile and trapped Remus while killing his acolytes.
When the Shatterbrand infiltrated the camp, he met them with the ferocity of a cornered beast, calling on tricks learned from both witch doctors and Seekers, the one of whomst he kidnapped to siphon magic from entrapped nearby. It wasn’t enough. He died amid the ruins of his own worktables, his last sight the freed Remus destroying Ictic’s lifes work.
Pyrus was too late to save his friend but the pyromancer unleashed the might of the Gyaron volcano as an attempt to kill the adventurers who defeated his Heretic.
