Hydra Tamer

The Hydra Tamers are tasked with keeping the legendary Ashstorm Hydra at bay. They are skilled in taming and controlling the powerful creature, ensuring that it does not cause destruction in the Firefang Jags.   They walk the scorched ridges at twilight, dusted with ash and sweat, eyes fixed on curling smoke where the Ashstorm Hydra broods. The Hydra Tamer—leather-bound, beard singed by sulfur, arms scarred from binding chains—raises a curved staff carved with protective runes. With practiced voice they whisper the Tamer’s call.   The great beast lifts its massive heads, nostrils flaring storms, each breath a crack of thunder. Tamer steps forward, hand outstretched, cords of binding around the beast’s great jaw, urging calm. It roars, waves of ash dancing in teeth, claws gouging at stone. Yet under the Tamer’s will, the beast’s fury pools, simmering like coals rather than erupting.   In the Firefang Jags, nights have grown quiet with the Hydra Tamer’s vigilance. Farms survive spillover flames and villages no longer tremble at every roar.
