Gruul

In the shadow of the Flarik peaks, where the stone veins of the world hum with ancient memory, Gruul once made his quiet home outside the settlement of Galton. A mountain troll of staggering strength and childlike simplicity, Gruul was a creature of earth and moss—his grey, rock-like skin bore the weight of time and solitude. Though slow of speech and thought, he was not without wisdom of a deeper kind: the kind found in root and stone, in patience and presence. When the call came to delve into the lost kingdom of Fogholt, it was not his fists they sought, but his unwavering steadiness. In the depths of that mountain realm, Gruul held aloft the collapsing Second Essence Engine, bones grinding, breath failing, while his companions escaped the cursed throne room of Vul’Adnia. In that final moment, as the soul-prison shattered and the spirits of Fogholt were freed to the wind.     Mountain troll who helped free the spirits of Fogholt, he died as the essence engine collapsed releasing the souls of the lost civilization.
