Gnomon Lifter

Each morning in Teslite’s foundries, a line of Gnomon Lifters straps into small steam-piston exoskeletons. The suit’s brass joints hiss, pistons pump, and creaking servo-arms amplify their lifting strength. What would take ten bare hands now happens with effortless heft: beams in place, ore hauled, machines assembled brick by metal plate.   They are not soldiers; they are builders. Their work underpins every invention—raising gears, assembling frameworks, hauling heavy crystals for lightning conductors mounted on Mount Teslite. Sweat runs over goggles; grease stains fingers, but at day’s end, whole neighborhoods of Teslite stand firmer because of their lift.   Lifters know the storm patterns, the shifts in pressure, when hydraulic pistons slip and when belts strain. They fix, adjust, and push forward, driven by pride in their craft: strong arms guided by clever mind, powered by steam and dedication.
