Elian

Elian is a local potion master who got his great grandfathers shop back up and running in the Dunwich District of Skygarde. Elian’s Elaborate Elixers, the old wooden sign carved with a calligraphic three E’s. He comes from a line of potion masters, his ancestor was Ezra the Skygarde Potion master in the 4th Era. The building stayed in the family even though for a few generations they got out of the trade. Elian found the notes of his ancestor and reopened the business as Elian's Elaborate Elixirs.   The young man has a quick mind, is of shorter stature and has dirty blonde hair often discoloured by whatever brew he is concocting. His circle of oddities and inventors allows him a unique connection of cohorts.   Elian is an alchemist who also leads the Crucks, a gang of misfits who have banded together to defend their homes and businesses from street brigands. Elian is a skilled alchemist who can create potent potions and deadly poisons. He is also a shrewd tactician who can outthink his opponents.   Elian moves between flasks and gears in his cramped shop, shelves sagging under bottles of swirling liquors, powders striped with toxins, and pistons the size of fists. His hands are stained faintly green from the potions; goggles rest perpetually on his brow, smudged with soot and smatterings of resin. Behind the counter, he kneels beside an owl-bear cub, its fur dappled like moonlight if black and white spots, wrapped in cloth when visitors approach as its hide is worth a lot to a poacher.   By daylight, he bargains with botanists and sailors, flipping vials and sharing sketches of mechanical devices inspired by gnome design. At night, he leads the Crucks in protecting Dunwich’s back alleys using gas traps, smoke bombs, poisoned darts.   He is in love with a local girl named Yennifer but Elian is known for successfully creating a love potion. Yenn has since kept her distance, not knowing if her feelings for Elian are real or manufactured.   The Crucks are a small time gang who only really take care of their immediate neighborhood. Elian has allied himself with the local Chiselers who also run in the Dunwich District. Elian will report any major criminal activity to Baldur, the Burrough Leader in charge of that gang. Baldur apparently gets his own aid from the political factions of Echose who seek influence with the capital.   The Crucks wear burgundy coveralls painted with dappled green. They clink and clank as they walk due to the various gadgets they keep on their person. Many of the faction is made up of Pigeon Runners, Sailors and Botanists as well chemists and inventors.
