Humans
The Firstborn of Aku are humans, known as the Sparkborn. They have a more robust frame than an elf or gnome, but more gracile than a dwarf or orc. They have strong bones, but present a wide range of height and build. For a sympatic lineage, they have a high degree of sexual dimorphism, which they often try to downplay in mixed societies. Conversely, sometime members of other lineages will try to mimic this feature in human-led social groups.
Humans are short-lived, but live, learn and breed first. They are known for their empathy and creativity, but also for their greed and their ability to grow their numbers and expand their influence, even while throwing themelves at situations and things with the capacity to do them harm. They also have a knack for domesticating animals.
There are five broad ethnic subdivisions of human: Northlanders, Heartlanders, Halffolk, Wyldfolk and Mandosians.
