Arcano-Synaptic Ganglion

The Arcano-Synaptic Ganglion (ASG) is perhaps the pinnacle of Arcano-Genetic Revision technology. This organ is a web of electrically excitable cells embedded in a creature's body. The major innovation in this organ is that each patch of the ganglion is innervated and independently excitable by the creature's voluntary motor systems. This allows for the precise and principled formation of magical patterns at the creature's volition to a much greater and more precise extent than is possible using standard spellcasting techniques.   An accessory adaptation called the arcano-motor nerve is required in order to innervate the ASG. This is an additional cranial nerve about the thickness of a Human thumb that travels down the neck and along the vascular system to the ASG itself. Significant vascularization of the ASG is required to maintaing the survival of so many neurons in one place.
