Warian Collective
The Warian Aura is a Goultani/Daidrin pseudo-subset of magic governing the connection between the living world & the Ethereal Plane. The aura connects with the bodies & souls of all living creatures, which allows them great psionic power over the mind, body & spirit. This aura was secretly created by the Wood Elves at the founding of the Warian Collective, where they sacrificed countless Sun Elves to specially constructed temples during the Solternian Genocide. The essence of the Goultani Gaioforce within them, especially the Gaioforce-casters, was transferred into these temples to break through and combine with the energies of the Ethereal Plane. This new energty was drawn back to the mortal realm through the temples, with later became known as the Warian Nexuses. These Nexuses are maintained and guarded by select few Sentinels, Monks & Sorcerers due to the secretive nature of their truth. The meditation Warians partake in draws upon this energy as a source, since the Nexuses connect the physical and ethereal worlds enough to make their powers work.
Warian Collective updates 6/19/2024
1. The only resurrection spells Warians can inherently cast are Revivify & Raise Dead, requiring the previously specified amount of Warian Life Crystals as the casting component instead of the RAW 5e components 2. The Founders (powerful Goultani Masters) did not start the Solternian Genocide, but rather took advantage of it once the Wood Elf nations of Dalterra didn’t stop destroying the empire & its people. They used their followers within Dalterra to kidnap Sun Elf refugees escaping from fallen cities, taking them to eight specially designed temples across Dalterra for ritual sacrifice. These became the Nexus Temples and were connected to each other via the Goultani Leylines. The Warian Grand Nexus (located within the Wildhaven/Woodhaven Woods/Forest) sits atop a rare intersection of Goultani & Daidrin Leylines. The Warian Collective’s HQ is built around this temple, keeping it at its heart just beneath the Founder’s Council chambers. The Founders each have a near-unbreakable crystalline statue serving as their permanent connection between Gaion & the Astral Fog/Ethereal Plane placed within the Grand Nexus. Each individual Founder has a similar statue at one of the seven Nexus Temples. 3. On the night of a powerful summer solstice, the Founders used their statues at each temple to communicate with their followers guarding the prisoners, all while they prepared the Ritual of Astral Ascension at the Warian Grand Nexus. On their orders, they ordered their followers to sacrifice the many thousands of imprisoned Sun Elves by slitting throats and throwing their dying bodies into a ritual pit, built at the base of that Founder’s statue. While details are scarce due to the secrecy of this event, it is estimated that anywhere between 300,000 & 2 million Sun Elves were killed in this ritual, making it the bloodiest day of the genocide. Once all sacrifices were completed, the Founders had channeled enough Goultani energy (from the Gaioforce Leylines) & biomantic energy (from the sacrifices) to punch through the barrier between the material plane and the Ethereal Plane (using the Daidrin Leyline for interdimensional connectivity). In the same stroke, they activated the statues at each Nexus Temple to pull their surviving followers into the pit, using necrotic dark energy (from the Daidrin leyline) to kill them once they’re in there & seal the secret of this dark ritual. 4. Upon success, the Founders were effectively immortal via being tethered to this plane via their crystalline statues. They would not have a body to inhabit, but they can freely move through the Ethereal Plane & Astral Fog without fear of passing into the afterlife. They can inhabit any of their crystalline statues to commune with Warian Collective members. They also reserve the special power to have all of their souls temporarily inhabit a willing vessel (member of the Collective) as an Astral Avatar, granting them all the powers & skills of the Founders. They can offer as much (or as little) or their knowledge as they want, allowing them to create Astral Avatars in times of need without risking their secrets. 5. Alathor, Last Knight of the Lightbearer, is one of the Founders. After the deaths of Aurovi & Denithor, all paladins & clerics of these deities spontaneously exploded with divine energy, rather than simply forgetting the names of their Elder Gods. The non-cleric/non-paladin followers of these powerful figures did not die in this fashion, but attempted use their magic to contain the divine explosions of their leaders. Most failed and were destroyed in the blast, but some were successful at sealing the blasts (at the cost of their own lives) within powerful gems called an Aurolisk/Denithisk. With no one left to man the temples where these champions fell, many of these gems were either lost within the ruins or the wilds/wherever the champions were when they fell. Alathor’s Aurolisk, however, was recovered by scattered survivors of Aurovi’s following & restored to life. Alathor justified the Solternian Genocide & the Collective’s role in it as Aurovi’s retribution against a deadly & oppressive force, along with establishing a peacekeeping force to prevent these types of powers from rising again. Alathor famously sacrificed himself in the climax of the ??? War (Northern Dalterra/the Faelarian cluster vs. Cyregnorian Vampires) by casting Astral Banishment on Blood Lord Daedrius, severing his ability to permanently bind his spirit to a physical body (as long as he wishes to keep Daedrius back).Misc
1. The true history is written either in the Warian Aura article or another article dealing with Waria; find this information and make sure it gets saved in the Warian Aura article 2. Rename Warian Aura to Warian Collective; organize under the Faction category instead of Magic 3. Warian Collective is governed by the Council of Founders; the long-lived Elven founders of the Warian Collective. They alone know the Collective’s true history, and they are the only ones that can read the hidden murals & texts within the Nexus Temples Warian Collective The Founders - seven founding members of the Warian Collective. Powers and Techniques [non-canon]
• Organic Magic - Warians can control biological magic to create & alter life • Waria Sense- The most notable ability of the Warias and one of the first techniques one would learn. The Waria sense is a 6th sense that allows the Seregan to feel and visualize all the living energy in the area of effect (which varies depending on the user). This gives them a 360 picture of their surroundings, allowing them to see anything that’s coming. This also gives them the ability to navigate in areas of low visibility with little issue, as well as allowing for minor levels of precogntion/foresight (usually in the form of flashes & visions). • Spiritual Cleansing- Waria are capable of purifying certain spiritual entities that have been corrupted in some way, whether sentient beings or spiritual objects. The effectiveness of the cleansing depends on the power and skill of the user. A master could purify a spiritually corrupted mortal soul, or even perform exorcisms. • Spiritual Transcendence- With their deep spiritual connection to energy, Waria are capable of spiritually travelling between the existential planes of Gaion. Doing so requires great skill and mastery, along with heavy meditation. While out of their physical body, their spirit can have new abilities, as well as limitations. However, they cannot stay separated from their body too long, as prolonged separation will kill them physically. Many master Waria transcend their bodies when close to death, choosing to live out the rest of their soul life in the spirit realms. • Astral Push- Similar to transcendence, a skilled Waria could apply the same principles to another person and push their soul out of their body, whether willingly or by force. This can be used to incapacitate foes or send allies to other locations spiritually, perhaps even across dimensions. • Telepathy- A Waria can utilize their psychic energy to transfer their brain waves/thoughts across to another person. A master could even create a two-way channel of telepathy with their recipient. The telepathic range of the user depends on their power and mastery of the technique.- Mind Control- An extremely advanced form of telepathy technique, a Waria can psychically command other people’s brain waves and use his/her own to impose his/her will on another being. This can range from subtle suggestions which the recipient may not even realize, to total mind control which can damage and hurt the recipient’s brain. A master Waria can even take control of multiple people at once, though the strength and scope of this depends on their power and skill
