GG Chapter 4: Quaxual Harassment

The Session

Kennifer revives Quaxly, who decides to stay with the myconids in the village instead of continuing the quest for Gau’Sharan’s Egg. The bois don't like this and try to convince him to come with them, but he stands his ground, feeling more accepted amongst the myconids than he ever did in Ornethia. Skylark proceeds to prove Quaxly’s point by bullying him, which leads Quaxly to burn Skylark with the mic drop that no matter how he talks the talk or flocks the flock, Ornethia will always see him as a a Lesser Bird. Skylark is insulted and backhands Quaxly, then smushes him into the dirt as the Myconid Brutes & Adults surround the group.

After a tense exchange, Quaxly has the Brutes escort the flock out of his village. Unable to accept Quaxly’s personal autonomy, Kennifer & Skylark execute an assassination operation on their former companion. Kennifer successfully used his Halo of Spores to reduced Quaxly to 0 HP and successfully leaves the village unnoticed with Skylark and his dodo steed. The last they see of the village before fleeing was a small Myconid Sprout looking back to the unconscious Quaxly.

The remaining flock ventures deeper into the Cordybog, finding but avoiding more aberrant funga-fauna & monsters along the way. They hear the sound of another Sporestalker in the distance, but otherwise make it to the Deep Jungle region (inner ring surrounding the Heart of the Cordybog Jungle). As they land to set up camp, they catch a glimpse of the nightmare rainforest that lies ahead, filled with alien imitations of flora & fauna.
