GG Chapter 3: The Ballad of Quaxley
General Summary
The Session
The boys take a restful rest, noting that the creatures of the Cordybog Jungle continually come across their camp but always move outside the perimeter. Throughout the watch, they hear/see Viper Wolves, Tiguanodans, Spore Blights, Needle Blights, Vine Blights, Viper Bats, Hyphasnakes and as distant Sporestalker.
In the morning, Mistral pins a vine blight to a tree, who proceeds to mold around it to escape and beckoned the party to follow it. On their trek with this vine blight, the group noticed several mushroom people (myconids) riding Viper Wolves in the thicket on both sides of them, seemingly escorting them to whatever destination lie ahead.
The flock arrives in a small myconid village made from the fungal undergrowth of the region, with buildings structured like mushrooms, spore towers, and slime pits. The Cordybog Sovereign, chief of the village, speaks to them through his spores, welcoming the Gau’Sharan Games candidates to their home. The Sovereign insists they attend a feast at the village center, a giant mushroom building with bioluminescence flowing through vein-like vines. While being led there, the flock deduces that the Sovereign means to sacrifice them to whatever lies in the village center. Instead, Kennifer & Skylark head into the chamber while Quaxly & Mistral engage in combat with the Sovereign & his Myconid Brutes, the Myconid Adult & Sprout villagers unsure who to support due to Quaxly’s tunes.
