The AfterLife

When a being dies, when ones life is snuffed out, the pure magic of this being is released, it begins to exist separate from Gaia, but still connected. In this pure magic form the being is trapped in this afterlife devoid of any but beings like itself. Over time the being might become stronger, feeding off the other beings trapped in the after life, until eventually it becomes strong enough to project its form across the boundaries as a ghost or spirit, a shell of the being it was in life, lacking all but the deepest parts of itself. Alternatively the being may in time, become apart of Gaia once more, accepting death and becoming once more apart of the magic that flows through the world. A rare but ultimately possible outcome is that this form is pulled back across the veil and reintroduced to its body or a new body where it is able to continue living once again, most of the memories of its time in the after life a dull and vague memory.
