The Misty Thicket

A dense land isolated away from the continent by mountains, the only approach is by sea from the northwest. Due to this, despite it being next to the Zenthian People and Consular, has enjoyed little travel from people. Its a luscious land of forests and one inland sea that is so clear and calm, its like looking through crystal.
— Tsseeka Chiith, Guild Chronicler

The Misty Thicket is a magical forest, so they say. Being divided by the continent from the Towers of Gaia and the mountains of Consular the land has a mystique quality to it of a land untouched by the politics of Sahandra. It has been described as otherworldly to its outsiders, and houses no major nations. There is a wildkin population and a wood elf population, but they are so well hidden they are considered rare. You will likely run into a wildkin before an elf.

Geography

The dense forests of the thicket are said to block most light from hitting the floor of the forests, leading to a bioluminescent fauna that is below the canopy of the great Veilwood trees that are native to the area. Though not as tall as an Aldaar Tree, the Veilwood is a top heavy tree that is known to grow so thick, that a mist forms just under the trees, a natural greenhouse in a sense. The temperature remains the same through out the thickest parts of the woods. The region is compared to the Shadowed Lands by many, but less gloomy and more whimsical.

The Misty River

The Misty river is a large yet quiet and calm river that runs through the middle of the region. The River flows from the Towers of Gaia mountain range, into the Lake in the Woods. The water is said to be so clear, you could see the bottom and the fish all within. The water is also a natural spring, and clean, safe for consumption.

The Towers of Gaia

In the northern part of the region, lays a large swath of snow-topped mountains that tower above the land. These are known as the Towers of Gaia. There is a alpine ecosystem amongst the mountain sides. They are usually shrouded by the mists or the forest canopy. The area is largely unexplored and if one can cross them, they would find themselves on the northern shore of Sahandra, and in the shadow of the Iksamas Desert, dominated by the Tower of the Faithful, another tall mountain in the desert.

The Lake in the Woods

The Lake in the Woods is a crystal clear large freshwater inland sea. It mirrors the mountains and the sun as it is surrounded by the Misty Thicket it self, and the Western most Mountains of Zenthia Iksamas. The Tower of Origins from within the Zenthian homelands can be seen in the distance, over the mountains. There lies sunken Infinity tower that crashed upon the lake's western shores. The Guild of Lore confirms this was part of the Tower of Origins that toppled thousands of years ago. it is shrouded by overgrowth and only seen if one makes the trip on foot.

The Claw Sanctuary

The Claw Sanctuary is a Dragon haven that shares the borders of Zenthia Iksamas, Consular, and the Thicket. It is a place where wounded or crippled dragons call home, and often stay hidden from view. The mountain itself towers above the rest in the border zone. The area is accessible by Air, but within the Tower of Origins Exclusion zone the Zenthians put in place, making it almost impossible to travel to by air without risk of being Flaked or Shot down.

Ecosystem

The Ecosystem maintains a warm yet humid pattern, most life in the area that is not Wildkin or Elven have adapted to the low-light of the region. Mist Stalkers are the apex predators of the region, a large panther like animal that can hide within the darkness and stealthy. The land also has Wisp Ravens which are birds that have shimmering feathers, intelligent, and known to mimic speech eerily.

If it's not the Wisp Ravens that unsettle you, it would be the Mist Stalkers.
— Antonie Sarken, Guild Chronicler

The Sylvakin; not related to the beastkin or wildkin, are a ghost-like deer species that is rarely encountered in the wilds. Seeing one is considered a good blessing. They are also said to guide travelers to safety if lost in the woods.
