Steel Types
Red Steel / Dragon Steel
Created by mixing drakium dust into superheated molten steel at ~2500°C. These high temperatures are needed since drakium absorbs heat very well, resulting in an immediate cooling effect of about 500-1000°C depending on the amount of drakium dust added. Red steel has outstanding heat resistance and is often used in thermal shielding and anti-energetic armor, but is more brittle than normal steel. It has a slight red tint to it compared to normal steel.
Aero Steel / Sky Steel
This steel is created when mixing materials with anti-gravitational properties into it. Depending on the material used the name and appearance change slightly, but mainstream aero steel is created by alloying the steel with a small amount of Arkanis-Aluminum-Titanium alloy which results in a weight reduction of up to 50% while barely compromising the steels strength. The resulting material is slightly translucent which is also an easy way of verifying the quality of aero steel. Poorly made aero steel has clusters of high transparency while mostly being nontranslucent due to areas with a higher Arkanis alloy amount being more transparent.
Blue Steel / Vathasteel
Rare steel type that is created by mixing Vatham dust into the steel in a similar process to red steels creation. The resulting material has a strong dark blue tint and provides superb essence insulation, making it incredibly resistant to essence and energy-based attacks. A major problem in the creation of blue steel is the dosage of Vatham dust since a high amount will lead to crystallization and a small amount will not be enough to get the insulating properties.
Golden Steel / Aureel
This type of steel is often seen as a testimony to the Laos vanity. It is created by mixing aero steel with enchanted gold to create an alloy that is almost as light as aero steel with durability slightly greater than normal steel which looks almost exactly like normal gold. Its greatest downside however is that the enchantment needs to be recharged with essence, otherwise the alloy becomes brittle and breaks apart.
