Arkanis

A metal that has superb essence conductivity which is used in almost every catalyst or essence based machinery. It is found in an ore form, usually called Arkanium from which it is then refined. The refinery process is very complicated tough since Arkanis alloys with other metals in its ore and requires complex processes to break up the alloyed Arkanis from other metals. Even to this day, only the most high-end refineries have the necessary equipment to fully extract all the Arkanis and on many less developed worlds only a fraction of Arkanis can be extracted from an ore, while the rest is sold off in its alloyed form as varying lower quality products. In its purest form, Arkanis is an almost transparent white, changes its color when exposed to essence to reflect the type it is exposed to.
In its pure form, it is a luxury good that is only used in the most high-end applications and is mostly sold in the cheaper to produce metal alloys, where it still maintains most of its properties with only the essence conductivity being a major factor of change as it mostly correlates with purity.
