Purpose and Function

What is the intended purpose of the building?

The purpose of this building is to make fireworks, this being can be found outside of Birdencaster on Animal Husbandry land as to be much safer for the residences of the city and is closest to Segment 5. To get to the factory requires walking along a paved road.

Which, If Different, Was Its Original Reason For Being?

The fireworks factory did not always a fireworks factory and had a smokestack. Once the current tenants moved in the smokestack was removed and the bricks were reclaimed and sold into Warehouses.

Design

The fireworks factory is one large rectangular factory. The factory works similarly to how the Cooper operates in that the lower the floor is the further in the manufacturing process the fireworks are. When the firework reaches the bottom floor of the factory, the smaller fireworks are packed into crates while the larger ones are carried from the factories to warehouses.

Entries

There are three main entries and therefore exits. These are on the two shorter sides of the building and one of the longer sides pointing towards Birdencaster has the third and most important entry for this is where the fireworks leave the factory.   The main exit and entrance are the grandest has sett paving. While the other two are inlaid with gravel to make drainage and traversing the path easy.

What Temperature Is It Within The Building?

The factory is cold in winter is not uncommon for you to see your breath even when inside the factory. This is for safety reasons as to not heat the chemicals too much other hazards can be seen under the Hazards section.

Denizens

Which people and can be found here regularly?

Customers of what the factory produces can be bought at the warehouses in Birdencaster. However, since there is not really a good place to set off fireworks safely in Birdencaster, except for The Arena. So it is the Arenas Staff that buy the fireworks for November Celebrations and New Year’s Celebrations.   For obvious reasons the workers and management also work within the factory.

Contents & Furnishings

Valuables

Valuables include chemicals and completed fireworks that are ready to be sent to the warehouses. It is then the warehouses will then export the fireworks for profit or sell them to The Arena staff.

Hazards

As you would expect that with working with explosives the main danger is setting the gunpowder when it is not intended to go off. The main way to combat this is to use a brass pestle and mortar to prevent sparks when mixing ingredients and to limit sparks when possible.

Products

There are various fireworks that are produced at the fireworks factory. These are Tourbillion which gives light stars when ignites in the night sky, these fireworks also have “whistles” which allow the firework to make high pitch screaming sounds ^[2]. The other is basic shells which can be multiple colours.

Colours

All fireworks have colours these are based on metals but can also be in the case of metals that aren’t aluminium and iron. For metals that are not aluminium and iron are metal salts that when burnt give off colours, these colours are displayed in the table below.
