The Mire

The mire refers to a myth that roaming Gand are spectral monsters hungry to feast on the living. Reports have come from farmers whom have seen their livestock seemingly dissapeared overnight or from those who either use or live near The Elven Undercity and have seen friends and family dissapeared without a trace or whole encampments destroyed and ransacked to pieces.   There is little to no phsical evidence to prove the existence of these creatures but eyewitness accounts describe the creature to be a stinking and slinking mass of dark ooze that shambles through the dark leaving black sludgy trails in its wake, hence its name. The mire. Descriptions of size vary widely from the size of a person to the size of a small building, some describe it as human shaped, some as bestial and some as a formless blob.    Reports and discussion of the entity have only emerged in the last two years or, a number of affected citizens have appealed to their nearest lord, some even opting to go directly to the royal court. But as of yet it's been rules that there is not enough evidence to prompt an investigation using the King's men and resources.
