Swalsify

Strong Taste Florabeast

Salsify is a largely misunderstood vegetable, being an unassuming white root that tastes remarkably like oysters. Chefs and Gastrologers have long struggled with what to do with such an ingredient of discordant taste, but Guardiners have never questioned the best use of a Swalsify. As lightweight, agile flyers, Swalsify are valued for their ability to convey messages across long distances and find their recipients with unerring accuracy. To aid in this endeavor, Swalsify are one of the few Florabeasts which exhibit a flocking tendency.

Guardiners are able to plant a higher number of these creatures without suffering the usual penalties of misbehavior and mental strain. Zoobotanists speculate this is because of the flocking nature of the swallow that they share qualities with, and their willingness to work together with humans and other Florabeasts.

Name Explanation
The swa- sound in swallow matches with the sal- sound in salsify. White salsify isn't very popular in the US but the author has grown them and can confirm that they do indeed taste like oysters.
