Eversand

Eversand is sand from the Kalanesh Desert that has been infused with the higher ](Landmark)mana levels from underneath the Great Divide. Researchers believe that toward the end of the desert, all sand, even that of the surface is Eversand.
Eversand is used for a myriad of purposes, but the most imporant is fueling enchantments. For example a heating or light enchantment, used for air-conditioning, cooking, lighting, etc, can be recharged by sprinkling on some Eversand. Eversand is also just used as a method of storing mana for long term use.
In its raw form, Eversand has been seen to have temporal properties, and miners have reported a sense of slowed time when being in close contact for prolonged times.
In a now-banned research project, several students of the Imperial University tested the effects of Eversand Consumption, two subjects died, and the third reported experiencing slowed time for hours, though from the researcher's perspective, it was just 3 minutes.
Eversand is sometimes used as a quenching material in crafting. It is believed, that quenching in Eversand increases durability by creating a paradox. All damage suffered by the object is moved to the "end" of its lifespan, but by not having suffered the damage, the lifespan increases. This is not indefinite, as the Eversand quenching has limits, but it is a relatively easy, if expensive way or multiplying the lifespan of objects exponentially. Of course, when the Eversand quenching fails, it sometimes fails explosively, depending on the damage the object has taken over its life.
