The Crowman
Somewhere on the blurred state lines of Washington and Oregon, where the industrial cities having yet to tarnish the rural lush green, is the self-proclaimed town of Nowhere. It’s a small town, not small enough where you know everybody, but just small enough to let the rural legend of the Crowman flourish among the schoolchildren and even the young adults barely out of high school. The Crowman, as the name implies, is a man supposedly half crow or raven and half man. He is described by the children and the teens as being very tall, reclusive, covered in long black feathers, but wispy like hair. His eyes are a vivid blue that appear to be without a pupil to some. The main thing that divides the towns people is weather he wears a mask or indeed has a beak where his nose should be. Many people agree on him having a very human aspect with sickly pale skin underneath all that furry down.Where the Crowman comes from and why he’s here is, also up to debate. You’ll hear anything from aliens to Area 51 experiment and even crazier things such as the second coming of Christ; usually all from the same person. The Crowman probably thinks the citizens of Nowhere are just as strange as we think him. I wouldn’t know much about him since I’ve never seen him and I’m sure half the town hasn’t either.
Summary
This urban legend of the "Crowman" appears to be isolated to this particular town of "Nowhere". The locals of the town collectively agree upon and persistntly of the creatures existence. However in my investigation I gathered no substantial evidence to the creatures existence--that is not to say I didn't encounter something strange.
I presented myself as an author conducting research for a new novel centered around America's myths and legends. I was surprisingly accepted and many of the people I spoke to wer eager to share their thoughts and experiences. There was no shortage of those who claimed to see the elusive Crowman so the idea of what it looks like appears consistent.
The Crowman is described as being quite large in stature. Covered in black feathers and down, glossy under the moonlight as he seems to only emerge in the late hours. His eyes are described as a glowing blue. Any exposed flesh, such as his human arms and partially human face appear pale. His face is described as being more crow than man; beaked and feathered of course.
