Humans
Virzangest Mizairo Laelis,
I will condense all my knowledge of humans as precisely as possible to ease minds for this mission. This manuscript addressed to you, however, will be the only I have given other information to help you make informed decisions. This one contains details I believe necessary for you only; such as military tactics and history, psychology and behavior patterns, and anything that would be helpful for conversation and interaction.
They call themselves humans; "Homo sapiens" in their academic nomenclature. The "wise man"; for context: the humans we see today are the last of a long chain of "evolution": a consistent change to adapt their world's environment. Prior species have their own unique names, but most humans wouldn't be able to recall these names outside of those individuals dedicated to a particular field of their academia. They originate from the planet they named Earth and are the only species of their planet comparable to us. Most are amicable, but fearful. They do not understand what our sudden appearance means for them, and I must remind you, we are heralds of a dark time for them. It will be our people's responsibility to guide them through the darkness we are attempting to keep them from. So please find patience when dealing with them; the threat of the Void is new to them and can mean their extinction if we aren't careful. Our studies of their transmissions show they are interested in interstellar travel as well as "alien life" (that is us from their perspective). They lack the technology to allow for expansive interstellar travel, especially any means to transport life, so instead they rely on satellites to show them the universe. As for their interest in alien life, it is a gradient. Their "popular culture" (think books, radio transmissions, entertainment, etc...) depicts a complex variation of their interpretation of what alien life may be like. These variations range from explicitly hostile all the way to solely benevolent. I do caution because of their popular culture may influence their reception of us.
They come in a diverse variety and span all the continents of their planet. They do not derive a universal origin like us, so they have numerous cultures and languages. These cultures do not carry the same definition as we use: they are unique compared to one another and extremely rarely have similarities and should they share similarities it is usually a coincidence. Their language is not uniform; they have numerous means of communications and many as they have the cultures I described. Once driven, humans are intrepid explorers, as I have observed in their historical transmissions. Their temperament is their most unpredictable aspect. They have divides among themselves in ways I admit, are complex and not like any among our people. They are not created by divine hands, but a dangerous and ever changing environment. This factor is the driving force in many of their behaviors; they are driven to survive and they have the means to when threatened. Because of this, I sincerely believe they will endure no matter the outcome.
As for the matter of our Mother Mazarath and the thïsenyär. No, they do not share our history. They have developed their own pantheons, as diverse as humans themselves. I cannot say for certain what the catalysts for these beliefs are if any. Worship and reverence in gods do not exist in a vacuum so there may be some truth in their histories. Their gods do not live among them as we would expect, instead they find tangibility in divine artifacts. To further back my theory, we found similarities in vocabulary pertaining to this subject of the divine realm. They reference beings similar to the ätherä and sädthäsan, among other beings and the idea of consciousness after death.
The Lurokxi surely had the same fears and questions we do when they came to us. However, based off their transmissions I can give you a strong idea of what the people of Earth are like. We have deciphered what life is like beneath the veneer of their "popular culture" and frantic "news reporting". They do not differ so much from us that our people would have trouble assisting them against this awful threat.
Mazarath bless you and your endeavors,
Lathelrëel Yïshvamaar, Directing Professor and Observer of the People of Earth, Valgaartiran Academy
