The Silver Guard
The Silver Guard is a paramilitary organization founded during the second God War with the purpose of protecting mortals from supernatural forces. They are trained to be Hunters and Lorekeepers and act as the first and last line of defense against demons and other monsters.
The Silver Guard was founded notably by Teregan Burnham and the Fallen Angel Dematar who dreamed of a world freed from the machinations of Celestials and their offsprings, demons, mutants and monsters.
They vision was to be an inclusive and diverse organization, offering a place to anyone who wanted to help, regardless of race, gender, class, or magical ancestry.
The original Silver Guard aligned with the Angelic Host to save Tharan from Lucifer and fought to seal the gates of Hell.
After the sealing, the Silver Guard remained to protect all countries from supernatural attacks and acted as councilors and advisors to the nobility when dealing with such forces.
They built a reputation for being fearsome, fearless, and uncompromising in the face of Evil. However, with the sealing of the gates, the number of supernatural incursions slowly diminished over the centuries, eventually leading to their perceived irrelevance. Modern perception see them as obsolete and their numbers have dwindled excessively since their early days.
They also suffered defections and multiple splits from members who had different ideals about how to interact with the Supernatural. While the Silver Guard has kept a hard stance of never aligning with demons and monsters, others have thought to use them to further their designs. Some even sought to harness their power and take control of world governments for the sake of security.
The remaining Silver Guard are low in numbers and have their headquarter located in the capital city of Aleria, Tehal City. Their Grand Master is Silas Vikendis.
Some notable members are Gerald McLane, Leo Whelan, Silvia Torgal and Farah O’Neill.
The Silver Guard’s hierarchy is very rigid. The Grand Master presides over a Council of 3 Masters, including the GM. This council takes legislative decisions over the stances of the organization and decides on the appointment of High Officers.
Under the rank of Councilor are Masters who command a School or House. Each Master has their own except the Grand Master.
The House has it’s own culture and hierarchy decided by its Master. While they still have to follow the Silver Guard’s rule, different houses allow for different rules and legislations, most notably on their prefered methods of engagement, restictions on fraternization, magic use, hierarchy, etc…
