Beginning of the World

Before the beginning, they were two. Amath and Xaroth. Light and Dark. Order and Chaos. They were the Primordials; beings of incommensurate power capable of forging entire worlds out of the void by the sheer force of their will. They could remake anything as they saw fit.
But the two siblings’ rivalry and opposite personality caused them to fight often, destroying entire worlds in the process. What they created, they destroyed in their quarrel. Tired of seeing their efforts go to waste by the other, they each came to the same conclusion: the other had to die.

But the two siblings were ignorant of the one True Law of the Universe, the one Law even they were bound by: Light cannot exist without Darkness. As the siblings fought, they ultimately both killed each other.

Out of their death, was created our world: Tharan. A world of both Light and Darkness.

From their bones were sculpted mountains, from their tears of pain, rivers were born, and from their blood, magic was made. Those who learned to wield the Primordial Blood, could learn to reshape the world in the same fashion as the Primordials themselves.

In their demise, the two siblings’ essence shattered into pieces, and from those pieces were born the Celestials. Wielding only but a fraction of their parents’ power, the Celestials still possess great abilities. As such, mortals started to revere them as Gods.

The Celestials are limited however, as being born without bodies, they lack the ability to manifest themselves in the physical world. Their influence being limited, they must rely on mortals to carry out their will in the mortal realm.

In response to this, many Celestials have made themselves the object of worship of mortals in order to be able to manipulate them and use them in their designs.

It is said that there are two sources of magic, Light and Dark. These sources are the remains of the hearts of the Primordials. Any being who manages to find one of these sources will gather a power being anything anyone has seen.

It is believed that any being, mortals included, that finds a Source could posses the power of the Primordial, effectively becoming a God among gods.
Many, mortals and immortals, have tried to find a Source but no one has ever managed to find one. These sources remain a mystery even to the Celestials, and no one knows if they’re even on Tharan.

There exists beings from ancient worlds created by the Primordials who managed to survive the siblings destruction of their world. One such notable species are the Gurh’Logs, molluscoid beings who possess immense psychic abilities. They are bent on conquering the entire Multiverse and find the Sources in order to rebuild their world and live in an Eternal Paradise.
