'Going Amiss' Condotierri

Introduction

The 'Going Amiss' mercenary guild is a relatively new organisation in Castellac. Many such organisations have sprung up over the last twenty years, since the town gained popularity among the rich and famous. Wealthy, important people need protection and people they can trust to get 'the job' done in many areas.

The Condotierri was created by a knight from an aristocratic family who had fallen on hard times: Knight Berenger de Lanivelle, twenty years ago. Berenger was able to leverage his acquaintance with the local aristocracy to secure lucrative contracts for his band of genteel mercenaries. 

The 'Going Amiss' crew gained in reputation and is now one of the go-to condotierri organisations for the well-to-do in Castellac and beyond. One knows that with 'Going Amiss' or 'Amiss' as they are often referred to, discretion is assured.

Geographic location

The 'Going Amiss' guild house is situated in a quiet, residential district of Castellac - the genteel air the building gives off helps to reassure clients of the honourbound mercenaries within. 
The Guildhouse was bequeathed to Berenger and the guild by a grateful former client and housed between five and six permanent mercenaries at any one time.

Berenger has now retired and no longer lives in Amiss House. From the fortune he has amassed over the years (and some lucky finds), the former impoverished knight was able to buy back his family's ancestral home in Valdoran.  His suite on the top floor has been left to his successor, a clever halfing by the name of Guillian Nasaire. 

Nasaire runs the 'Going Amiss' with an iron hand and keeps a tight leash on the other five permanent members of the band. See 'characters' below.

 
 

Organisation and Structure

Nasaire (often referred to as 'King Nasaire' behind his back) is the only member of the condotierri who can give his approval regarding jobs the mercenary guild will take on or not.  What Nasaire says goes. 

Nasaire's right-hand man is a goliath named Verule - Verule also serves as muscle and bodyguard to Nasaire. Despite this imbalance of power within the guild, the 'Amiss' crew have done well for itself and is still regarded as one of the best mercenary guilds in Castellac.

Secrets of the Guild

Nasaire and Verule are onto some shady business unbeknownst to most of the condotierri they employ. They utilise the guild's connections to facilitate complex cons. 

However, Nasaire might have bitten more than he can chew by conning the wrong people. Now everyone in the guild might be in danger ...
