Session 26: Uncertain Paths

General Summary

In the party's latest adventure, they knew they needed to find a way out of Concorde before questions erupted abotu the dead Eladrin warriors in the alley outside the Lover's Embrace. They looted the warriors--Adaline taking a set of armor from one and Trystan an ornate bow from one of the archers--before carefully making their way back to the Temple of Aeon.   The party decided it would be best to take a short rest at the temple before leaving the city in the night. They sought the aid of Fela, waking her from her slumber to ask that she protect them from questioning by the Uniters, but Fela--though wishing she could do more--could not make any promises to protect the party or to hold off the Uniters from coming after them should they discover the party's involvement. Fela was not willing to risk her position or the position of the Uniters of Aeon. However, Fela allowed Ariella to join the party on their way to the gates, though Ariella was told to keep her distance.   The party took their rest and set off into the night, making a quick stop at the home of a jewel-maker to retrieve an item for ifig, before they exited the Gates of Aeon with the help of Ariella. Trystan earned some scrutiny from one of the guards, but the party left without further incident and continued on towards Lire, a two day journey from the city.    The first day of travel remained uneventful, and the party made camp in the rolling hills near the ominious Acadia Range, the jagged peaks sprialing into the sky. On her watch, Adaline decided to once again try the Dance of the Moon with ifig's assistance, and together, they began to dance beneath the full moon.    Adaline was lulled into a sort of trance, a music on the air and moonlight shining down on her, and as the dance intensified and drew to a close, a Rift to the Feywild opened in the clearing. Without thought, Adaline stepped through and entered an exotic and lush world, a party with fauns and satyrs and other fey creatures in full swing.   Adaline was drawn into the festivities, dancing for what felt like hours before being brought out of her trance and toward a beautiful iridescent statue where three perfectly identical women materialized before her. "Tell which of us is not an illusion and you may ask our lady one question," they said. Adaline, using her keen insight, was able to easily pick out the woman on the left as the real one and she was granted the boon of one question, asking how she might find her parents.   A vision from Mirage showed Adaline a city in the shape of an eight-pointed star, Adaline's parents in their pure changeling forms sneaking through the streets. Then, the image of Adaline beside the rest of her party at the entrance to the city. And last, the sign of a tavern called the "Eight-Poitned Star". Immediately after this vision, another portal materialized before her, and Adaline was pushed back on the Material Plane, though in a location further than where she started and seemingly a day later.    Meanwhile, ifig watched Adaline enter the Rift before it disappeared, and Adaline did not return. The party was left with this, now two party members down and an unknown future ahead of them in Lire...and eventually, in Larmes, where all roads seem to lead.

Missions/Quests Completed

Adaline was able to successfully perform the Dance of the Moon, which she'd first seen performed by Friend, a Tabaxi, on the road towards Concorde.

Character(s) interacted with

Fela (Uniter of Aeon and Head Priestess of the Temple of Aeon - Concorde) - Half-Elf woman who is the mentor of Ariella and the main contact for the party in Concorde. She has sharp features and fair, long blonde hair usually kept in neat braids, though due to recent stresses, has become rather unkept.    Ariella Sacre (Uniter of Aeon - Concorde) - Human woman that the party originally met in Perdu after helping her retrieve the Eternal Torch from some boggles. She has short brown hair and deep brown eyes, and she seems to live in a state of perpetual inconvenience.
