Many years ago the now ancient red dragon, Althoonax defeated the first Storm Giant to asert dominance over the tallest mountain on the Four Rock continent, known to the dwarves as Highpeak. From Highpeak he fathered countless other dragons, who around 1000 years after Althoonax came to dominate Highpeak, set about conquering the other mountains of four rock, claiming their own peaks for their own. He also annihilated any male dragon on the continent. To this day there has been no surviving dragon on Four Rocks who was not a consort or child of Althoonax. These dragons did not find it necessary to settle their own mountains, which would've been much smaller and contained nothing prebuilt from them, but instead decided to push Dwarves and Giants off their own mountains. Both the dwarves and the Giants fought for control of the mountains that remained with the Giants pushing the Dwarves out of their remaining mountains and into the hills, grasslands, swamps, tundra and forests, of the surrounding areas. In such a time four major Dwarvish clans have come to power. The merchants of clan Brightaxe, renown for their skills as diplomats, and known for their high concentration of sorcerers, the warriors of clan Steelheart, known for their abilities as fighters and general resilience when mining the depths of the planets crust, Clan Eaglewing, who never resided in the mountains in the first place and are great trackers, hunters and griffon riders, and Clan Gearturner, a clan which includes both dwarvish craftsmen and gnomish tinkerers. 200 years have past since the dwarves have been forced from their mountains, and It is now rumored that Althoonax's influence is waning. Dragons are fighting among each other, and the giants have taken the opportunity to reclaim a few lost mountains. Now it is time for the dwarves to reclaim their mountains, and Clan Brightaxe has sent out the call for all the other clans. A great meeting is set to take place in the city of Gold Point, with all the major clans and even most of the minor clans in attendance.
