Factory Fleet
by hughpierre
The factory fleet was promotional effort by the Duquesa Family and the then-Awki Asoca, to counter the influence of Willa's Ch'atay Qutu.
The plan was ambitious: navigate a fleet of barges upriver, absorb raw resources from settlements along the way, and manufacture goods on board to build both material wealth and popular support for Asoca’s bid for Sapa.

The project demanded weavers, dyers, and tailors to meet clothing needs; metalworkers and woodworkers for tool production; and alchemists to provide reagents used across several onboard industries.
As their numbers grew, Wiqi Hupay proposed bringing cooks to streamline daily operations. Asoca expanded the crew further by adding carpenters, masons, and furniture makers. Madam Duquesa, ever thorough, recruited a few remaining clerks from her city to handle recordkeeping and basic education.
By the time the fleet set off, the endevour had grown to over two hundred people. As they traveled, their mysterious processes and remarkable goods astonished local communities who have never known how anything in the south was made. The fact that so many high value things were coming from the boats turn them into some nebulous magical box in their minds.
