Chaza
by hughpierre
Chaza is a racquet sport played between two teams of five players on a 330ft long and nearly 30ft-wide dirt court, divided by a line roughly drawn on the ground.
Execution
The objective is to launch a ball by hand or racquet or tablet so that it bounces into the opponent's field without being returned.
Points are scored as 15, 30 and 40. Each point is also scored as in tennis, looking for the opposing team to fail to return the ball before it bounces 2 times within their field. When a team gets 6 points and maintains a minimum difference of 2 points over their rival, they wins that set. When a team wins 2 sets, they win the game.
- At the initial serve roll a DC 12 Athletics or Acrobatics to play the ball normally or a point goes to the opponenets
- Each side alternates between returns, which require a DC 13 Acrobatics check; or a DC 15 STR check to increase the opponent's DC by +2. If they fail their return, point to the other side.
- After every 3 rounds, players must roll a DC 10 (+1 per 3 rounds) CON save or gain one level of temporary exhaustion for the match.

Enthusiasts are most often recognized by their overdeveloped forearms. Indeed, many inexperienced people can dislocate their shoulder or elbow when they try to play with inappropriate technique.
Players are strategically positioned and rotated between the server, the returner, the half-turner and 2 midfielders according to the 6 lines drawn on either side of the barrier line. The server drives the ball to the opposite side, and the opponent can give one rebound to the opposite team. This continues until:
- Players take d4 bludgeoning damage on any natural 1 they roll
- Players may move up to 10ft and roll with disadvantage to compensate for a poor roll. On a fail, players take d4 bludgeoning damage
- Once per game, a player may roll a DC 14 CHA throw to increase the opposing team's next return DC by +1. At a critical success, the player's team rolls with advantage for their next return.
- a side throws the ball out of the court
- a player did not receive the ball
- the server exceeds the barrier line with the ball
