Tomlinson Family

The Tomlinson Family dates back to the founding of Vivaria. They were instrumental in developing Weave Method Farming and have been strong proponents of it over the centuries. Their ancestral farm in the heart of Vivaria was partially sold off in order to fund the remainder being converted into the Tomlinson Weave Center. Several slightly more distant descendants were somewhat peeved about this.
There is some disagreement amongst scholars about the proper spelling of the family name. Some ancient records dating back to when the family first immigrated to the area that would eventually become Vivaria refer to the Tomilson Family. Experts have different takes on the meaning of this evidence; some say the records are spelled incorrectly, some that semantic drift is a normal thing over the course of nearly a millennium, and others that the records refer to a different family entirely. The discovery of these records led to a small but devoted arm of the family to change their name to Tomilson, dividing public opinion. As of 900 A.D., Tomlinson is much more widely used, in part due to the Tomlinson Weave Center.
