Session 021: Trash and Gold

General Summary

Our session begins with the North Wind being attacked by a troupe of mimics. They worked their way through eight mimics in total before the workshop finally quieted down. Looking through the office, they found notes on how the wizard tamed mama mimic and worked on raising a clutch of its eggs. They found a few other little bits over the course of the next few hours, ultimately finding mostly trash.   The crew hauls all the items of worth to Ernie’s over in Marketheart, finding a few more treasures there. They then meet up with Pretihn and Dalmira, Zenith’s little sister. The group has a blast entertaining the young elf.   They leave to finish up the workshop job. Team trash (Zenith, Jack, and Mohr) goes to take the waste to the dump and get it done without a hitch. Team gold (Aphid and Talasea) on the other hand, ends up in a farcical dance of deceit and regret. They convince Ela that the cleanup went terribly and the other three died. Tal asks for extra money for their emotional suffering. Ela scrounges up an extra 15g, and apologizes she doesn’t have more due to paying for the funeral arrangements. Immediately feeling bad, Aphid and Tal cook up a way to give the fifteen back. They decide on Aphid becoming a carrier pigeon even though he doesn’t know how to fly while wildshaped yet, and Tal going invisible to carry him so he can pretend to fly. Aphid, of course, can’t carry the bag of sixteen gold as a -4 strength pigeon, so Tal carries that too. They also write up a note to tie to Aphid’s leg, something about a guy getting flustered over how pretty she is and dipping out without tipping. They execute this poorly thought out plan, Aphid rolls a nat 1 to pretend to fly, Tal rolls a 19 to pilot the Aphid. Tal opens the door so Aphid can “fly in”. They drop the gold and Tal unties the message to leave that too. ... When team gold reunites with team trash, they don’t even try to explain what took so long.   The group decides to hit up the theater to wrap up their long day of work. They end up with a box to themselves due to the good will of the ticket-taker. And settle into their cushy seats to watch the performance of The Last Dragon.
