Heis a former captain of the Stonehaven Wardens, and had close ties to both Neverwinter . He is a friend of Gundren Rockseeker.
As a member of the town council of Phandalin, he is well respected and trusted by the townsfolk. He gets along well with fellow councilor Halia Thornton.
In his younger days, Sildar was a soldier and earned himself a place of honor among the Neverwinter Wardens and eventually assuming command of them.
