2025-10-23 Despair and Decay

We entered the house and found it shaped around an inner yard with a pool. A mysterious mist surrounded a grieving woman sitting before a dead child. She was completely unresponsive, and anyone approaching her began to feel grief overwhelming them. A portal to a forest of dead trees floated just above the pond. After some brief investigation, we hastily dove into the portal, which collapsed behind us.

Within the Bog Hag's lair, the forest of dead trees viciously attacked us, inflicting terrible damage until we escaped by flying above thanks to Varanis' magic. In the air, swarms of crows attacked, but we destroyed them and flew past the forest.

Beyond the forest lay a fog-shrouded marsh that messed with our minds. We struggled through for a half hour or so, but eventually we began to succumb to its mental assault. Finally, Milo activated Leo's rod of security and we recovered in the safety of its demiplane.
