2025-10-02 The Poisoned Path

We defeated the attacking members of the Poisoned Talons tribe, chasing two off and killing the rest.

The next day we found the bodies of another group of travelers, all but one killed by axes, the last by a blunt weapon. The tracks of a very large pig and a wolf were also present. The pig's tracks came to the site of the killings from the north, then left to the northeast. One of the dead was a half-orc with a tattoo of the emblem of the Emerald Enclave, leading us to speculate he might have been a druid that shape-changed into a wolf during the fight.

Mid-afternoon, we avoided a stampede of bison with only a bruise or two. As the sun set, we noticed the light of a fire in the distance. Ovak's familiar scouted the area, discovering 5 more orcs of the Poisoned Talons along with a giant boar. One of the orcs carries a maul. Overheard conversation confirms they killed the party we found in the morning, and were responsible for the bison stampede. Concerned that they might happen upon us when our guard is down if we sneak past, we've decided to ambush them after they go to sleep.
