2025-09-11 Make a Wish

Within Cresseret's Vault, we discovered 5 items: a chalice of black obsidian, a tear-shaped piece of amber, a scroll written in blood on pale skin, a crystal ball containing dark, crackling red energy, and a brass-stoppered iron flask. Through commune, we confirmed that the amber tear is the item we seek.

Taking our ease in Renzhi's home, we informed him of our discoveries and discussed our next steps. Renzhi told us of a unique place, The Infinite Staircase, a transitive space between planes that leads to any place there is a story to be found. This sounded entirely aligned with the theme of our quest. The Infinite Staircase is controlled by a cosmic djinni called Nafas who hears wishes voiced to him and, if he feels the petitioner worthy, responds.

With some help from the rest of us, Leo crafted a compelling ballad and performed it in the hopes of calling Nafas' attention. In response, the wind carried a melody to the bard's ears reminiscent of the songs we heard in the village in Tír na nÓg. Thus, after a short trip to Baldur's Gate for some incense, we returned to the Outlands.

Wherever there’s a story to be told, the staircase might be found.
