SKT.3.1 To Daggerford On Business

Session Summary

• After returning from the depths of the pyramid, Hawk briefly stops in the Ardeep Avengers' camp to check in and gain intel.
• In a brief discussion with Father, who's drinking problem has obviously grown worse, Hawk learns of his father's recent efforts to gain ownership of Nightstone by arranging a marriage between his youngest son Lacian and Melrose, the young daughter set to inherit the deed over the land.
• The party also learns of a strange Cloud Giant castle seen flying over the area between Daggerford and Waterdeep.
• The party then makes their way to Daggerford, where they engage in shopping, drinking and gamlbing in the Lady Luck tavern, learn of a Hydra causing problems near Secomber along the Dessarin River, and meet a variety of the local folk.
• Tristain has a private meal with Sir Isteval, who knew his father and promises to share more details about him, but encourages Tristain to seek out his contracts, which will guide him towards the truth about his father and his legacy.
 
 
• After speaking to Zira, Hawk learns Nalaskur's 'business' involves removing The Snail, who leads the Zhentarim in Daggerford. Nalaskur envies the position for himself. Their goal is to kill him, shame him out of town, or cut the Snail off from his resources.
• While the party discusses the pros and cons of each option following some surveillance and observation, Amarin and Second sneak off from the rest of the group and set The Snail's private quarters ablaze with a fireball.
• Daggerford ignites in chaos and confusion, searching for the source of the fire when the shadow of dragon's wings can be seen overhead and becomes the presumed culprit despite lingering questions.
• The party mades a hasty exit back towards the Ardeep Camp, meeting Harshnag, a Frost Giant who wishes to help them stop the other giants by guiding them to the Eye of the All-Father, where he believes the Oracle will give them guidance for how to fix the Ordning.
