SKT.2.1 The Golden's Flame Legacy
Paladin Fallis,
I apologize for not being able to write you sooner, however I have had an interesting 24 hours to say the least. It seems as though our jovial firbolg companion, Thoust, has sprouted a pyramid like structure straight from the ground. Please, don't ask. I didn't think too much of this happenstance at first, but as you will come to see, I believe this was a blessing from Savras.
When we first entered we saw a crown placed upon a pedestal with one gem placed within its many sockets. Second, The First Seat of Neverwinter, The Second Chair of Cond, the Third Recliner of … *sigh* I forget the rest, anyway, we thought it right that Second should wear the crown first, no one objected. Well that didn't end up being the best idea. Undead skeletons and mummies appeared and we waged battle. Our god king companion eventually fell, but we ended victorious. It appeared that the fiery blasts were causing him a great deal of damage. TIL, God kings are especially vulnerable to fire. Hoping for God king contract soon.
After our foes were defeated, we pressed forward to our next challenge. The next room tested the wit of our party. We elected ole Hawk for the job. Our objective was to retrieve keys in a specific amount of time which were contained within chests. Some of the chests contained stones indicating the amount of evil chests or chests containing keys, not exactly sure which. We had to retrieve the keys and unlock the door before time ran out. We succeeded.
The third trial was a test of constitution. We, of course, we elected Thoust. As he set the crown upon his head, a cloud of poison encompassed the room, leaving all but Thoust unable to move around. He quickly gathered Hawk and Amarin and set them to safety. Second and myself were next and we were able to get out of the poison without too much complication. However, the lasting effects took old man Amarin momentarily. I sought to cure Hawk's blindness, but I fell promptly after giving Hawk a crisp high-five. I thought this a little strange. Maybe he's still mad at me over the whole Arik situation. Hmm.. Oh well.
The fourth trial was a trial of protection and resilience. The group thought it best for me to wear the crown to undergo this trial. I did not oppose. Replicas of each of my comrades appeared, all of which seemed intent on destroying me. There were a lot of close calls in this battle and, to be honest with you Sir, I don't remember most of it.
Drifting in and out of consciousness, it was then that I had made a revelation. The gods were testing us. The first trial was a test dedicated to Torm, god of courage and self-sacrifice. The second trial was the work of Oghma, the god of knowledge. The third, a battle of endurance in the name of Ilmater. And my trial, a testament to Helm, the god of protection.
I awoke from the trial with my group being victorious. We passed through the doors to the next room, me handing the crown to Amarin. What challenges will we face next? What will the gods throw at us? I know one thing is for certain, if any group can handle the divine trials, it is this one.
Give us strength.
