Blood Hunter NPCs

Order of the Profane Soul

  Grynson (deceased)
Human (he/him). Gruff like many of his Profane Soul counterparts, Grynson was a tall and looming figure, his appearance made all the more intimidating by the scars and effects of long exposure to the blood hunter's tinctures. That said, he was perhaps the most likely of the hunters to crack a smile with a poorly-worded joke and was more talkative than many of his fellow hunters. Having never learned to read, he continued the oral traditions of the hunters with what pride he could muster. He trained Pax and Ezra in the field once they completed the rites. While Pax was studied in the depths of the Sanctum, Grynson died while completing a contract alone.   Ezra (deceased)
Human (he/him). Ally and close friend to Pax who believed in the existence of the physical contract signed by Ehmar and the archdevil in the creation of the Order of the Profane Soul. He was a part of the same class of blood hunters as Pax and traveled with him under the tutelage of Grynson in their teenage years. He died investigating proof of a contract binding the Blood Hunters to their infernal source of power.   Dolrik
Dwarf (he/him). A solemn individual, Dolrik demands respect through his resolve and resilience, having completed more contracts than all but Gravel himself, even after losing an arm to a bebilith. Dolrik trained Grynson in the field and then returned to serve as the Ritesmaster for new recruits. He has held the position since, making him only of the longest tenured in the role, at least as far back as the collective memory of the order goes. He is a demanding teacher who presents himself as detached and unmoved, but remembers the name of every hunter who goes through the rites under his watch. He personally buries those who don't survive.   Jhaielle
Drow (she/her). From the same class of recruits of Dolrik, Jhaielle rose to prominence in the Sanctum thanks to her arcane aptitude insatiable appetite for knowledge, and stalwart will. Before long, she became the definitive source for infernal taxonomy and sought to unravel the lost secrets and history of the order and Blood Hunters at large. Never popular among recruits nor her peers thanks to her barbed tongue and ruthless pursuits, she nevertheless became an invaluable resource. Through this unique role, she eventually stopped taking contracts and instead served as support for both leadership and hunters in the field. As she grew accustomed to the power and privlege the position provided, she expanded her research and began conducting experiments on hemocraft and the nature of the order's rites within the Sanctum.   Gravel
Human (he/him). The leader of the Order, Gravel, named for how the rites permaneantly affected his throat and gave him a hoarse bark of a voice, is also the oldest surviving Blood Hunter, having reached the age of fifty. The long-term effects of the tinctures have weathered his skin and worn down his vigor considerably in recent years and many consider him the Sanctum's Keeper in name only.   Ehmar (Historic)
Human (he/him). Founder of the Order of the Profane Soul in the early 10th century. Little is recorded of him other than his name and position.

Order of the Ghost Slayers

  Tordahr
Dwarf Male. A taller, stocky, middle-aged dwarf with thinning hair and a neatly maintained dark red beard that hides a nasty scar across his neck. Operating exclusively out of Yartar, Tordahr recently bucked the tradition of his order by negotiating am ongoing retainer for his services. Now, he spends more days than not reveling in his vices, rather than undead threats, though the Evermoors still provide a frequent source of work as well.   Thyxus (Historic)
Tiefling Male. First to rediscover the Netherese Scrolls which detailed the process of channeling one's lifeforce into magic through hemocraft. After using these newfound powers to defeat a local vampire, Thyxus taught a trusted few these gifts to deal with a spreading undead threat and thus founded the Blood Hunters and what would eventually be the subset Order of Ghost Slayers.   Tolcarth (Historic)
Human Male. The head of the Blood Hunters in the tenth century who commanded the order to avoid getting involved in the Fiend Wars.

Order of the Mutant

  Gerron
Half-Elf Male. Long, dark hairs that sharply contrasts with his pale blue skin and unnaturally sharp, conclave cheekbones that give him a skeletal appearance. Known for his ruthless efficiency, he is quickly rising among the ranks of Blood Hunters able to charge a premium for his contracts.   Arcurth
Human Male. A stocky, muscular individual with long, black hair. He walks as if teetering from one side to the other, shifting the weight of his disproportionately elongated right arm, with which he effortlessly carries a massive, well worn warhammer.   Cahra Suv
Human Female. She wears her shoulder-length blonde hair in intricate braids and typically dons dark, freeflowing cloaks. From a distance, her eyes appear completely overtaken by cataracts, but for the few who her face up close, they realize it is that her pupils and iris are both entirely white themselves.   Valdimar Suv
Human Male. Brother to Cahra, Valdimar shares the same bright blonde hair and light features. A discomforting, persistent warmth radiates from his presence.

Order of the Lycans

  Barmon
Human Male. A corrupt Blood Hunter who pledged his loyalty to Yeenoghu in exchange for additional hemocraft capabilities. Barmon was defeated by Pax, Aethuriel, and Tristain in the High Forest.
