Movement Weaving
Movement Weaving is also known as Portal Weaving, and it involves the creation of short-range portals that allow instantaneous travel between two locations.
As mentioned in the main article, Movement Weaving is characterised by green threads. They can vary in hue, lightness and saturation but don't overextend to yellows or blues.
The effective range of a Movement Weaver’s portal is limited. While short-range portals (within a few kilometres) are relatively easier to maintain, long-range portals require significantly more mana and precise control, making them impractical for most Weavers.
The Weaver must have a clear mental image of the destination.
Portals created by Movement Weavers are typically one-way. Once an object or person passes through, they can't turn back unless they're a Movement Weaver themself.
Manifestation
The Weaver begins by visualising the destination, which must be a place they are familiar with.
- This includes video footage, photographs and blueprints; if they prove to be wrong, however, it can lead to the person on the other side getting stuck in the ground or walls (or just hurting themselves.)
The creation of the portal starts with the Weaver extending their fingers to form a glowing green line.
The initial line is folded and manipulated into any shape; most typically it's circular or oval.
It's the most straight-forward of Weaving, and invaluable atop the Fortrop; especially for transporting goods and getting people quickly across short distances.
If a portal collapses while someone is halfway through, it can lead to severe injury or even death.
- If it closes while both your legs were on the other side, you're losing legs. If you were half-way there, then well... You're split in two.
