Retain unknown entities to the Florenic Worlds. Kordgelle insists that releasing what he and his Kithalists call, The Gathering, will lead to corruption of the world. A simple commoner and mundane military are not meant to fight these abominations. That is why the Kithal step in to ensure they never have to.
Kordgelle wants to be a neutral in mortal troubles. As such, the Kithal avoid getting involved with any disputes. Only if they are involved with Kordgelle himself, the Kithaltic Court itself, or the Gathering will Kithal actively intervene.
History
It was during the Primordial War, a period where Creators fought each other because of mortal loyalties, that the Kithal technically had its start. Kordgelle shielded away mortals that did not wish to be affected by this catastrophic fighting and they would be grateful since then.
When the Gathering spawned, many hands were forced from their isolation lest their homes, or even they, be corrupted. Kordgelle happily took any assistance he could in imprisoning these creatures to the Entropic Void.
Kordgelle would initially provide the mortals who helped him with quieter and mundane lives but they knew the threat already. Eager to help the last Creator, the Kithal became established to help maintain the Florenic Worlds stability.
Divine Origins
According to Kordgelle, he claims to be the last of his kind. A being who's ancestors has long since fallen and could design reality as they pleased. These Creators spurred to life and made the world as we know it. Because life was lonely for them, they decided to craft their own sentient creatures, some of which granted them bits of their own power.
Because some of the sentient life wasn't loyal and was going to different Creators, that is when the infighting began. Creators were jealous and sparked conflicts with their subjects, some granting them various powers and enhanced weapons to aid them in fights.
Eventually, the creations would be tired of this fighting. Some rallied others, believing their makers to be the fault of this proxy war. As such, the Creators would be killed along with their loyal subjects.
From the remains of these dead Creators, that is where the Gatherers came from. These twisted forms of life would wreak havoc on the creations, causing unspeakable vile acts of slaughter. That is where Kordgelle stepped. He vowed to the creations his whole purpose would be to quell these inscrutable monstrosities and so he did. That is how the Intellectuals formed and it would be all through time that they kept Florenelle safe from the Gatherers.
Granted Divine Powers
Kordgelle is willing to impart eldritch knowledge and power to those who aid him. All he asks in return is to commit to daily rituals that help reinforce the barrier of the Entropic Void, where the Gatherers are imprisoned. Another method is to seek out any leaks that the Gatherers may use to escape.
Alternatively, Kordgelle requests for deeds to be done. The oddness of these deeds is that it tends to impact people or objects. Who and why he wants these irrelevant jobs done is unknown only to him and perhaps those involved.
