The Directorate of Kern has a history of violence, bloodshed, and corruption. There is only value to the strongest leader who brings stability, morality being a luxury. The new age of industry, however, hasn't seen as many issues. No new wars have been waged or conspiracies to watch for. This has allowed the people to breathe a little easier. Luxuries such as art and philosophy have been allowed to flourish. The question now is if it will turn the people into decadance and restart the violent cycle all over again.
