SP04: Sting

SP04 or the Stinger is a hedgehog-like creature with nasty quills that can deal out a slow-acting poision that acts as a neutrotoxin which causes a painful and agonizing death. It's main danger comes in it's small and unassuming stature, it is not to be mistaken for an actual hedgehog as such a blunder can become a deadly mistake.

Although the Stinger is a creature that deals out a slow agonising death that in any other situation would be a terrible and horrible way to die, due to the nature of the other creatures that inhabit the Worldtree Exclusion Zone, it is seen as a benevolent fate.

Hunting Methods

The Stinger does not actively hunt it's prey, it simply roams around much akin to a normal hedgehog. It has been noted to be slightly more hostile and aggressive than other similar hedgehogs, but for the most part it does not actively hunt humans. It can be said to the stupidity of tourists that it is deemed so fatal.

Once it has killed it does not otherwise attack it's victim, but leaves it for other creatures and thralls of the worldtree to deal with. It's theorized that the Stinger isn't part of the Worldtree's scheme intentionally, but a creature transformed to do it's bidding accidentally.

Mitigation and Avoidance

The easiest and simplest way to deal with the stinger, and to survive it's wrath is to simply not annoy or approach hedgehogs within the Worldtree exclusion zone.

Once the poision has entered the body there is no way to cure it or save the victim from their fate. However, the Stinger is no bigger or greater than a normal hedgehog, and as such can be fled from or avoided by simply not bothering any hedgehogs.
