SP02: Amiss

SP2 or the Mists is a monster made of pure mist that likes to creep up on it's victims in times of low visibility to attack them and send them into a catatonic state.

Once a person becomes fearful of the mists the fear starts to take over the body and causes it's victim to slowly drain out their life essence as precipitation which the mist then brings back to the world-tree. The result leaves the person inside their body in a state of intense brain fog, unable to move, speak, or react to which they are unrecoverable.

Hunting Methods

It's main hunting strategy is suprise and overwhelm. It's core philosophy being that once it's victim is suprised and panicked, the mist's can quickly swoop in and overwhelm them with it's power, draining them quickly.

Once the mist's vapours have managed to permeate into it's victims brain, it then starts shutting off key functions, leaving the victim still concious but paralysed within it. The victim's body will then be left to pass on and decompose, it's nutrients feeding the worldtree.

Mitigation & Avoidance

Like most horrors of the worldtree the key to surviving the mists is to know what you're dealing with. Knowing that the mist's you're dealing with can be deadly, the best steps is to attempt to flee them, and to cover any orificases that may intake gasses. Such as, for humans, to cover one's mouth, ears, and nose.

Another way to avoid the mists is to be able to identify the difference between the deadly mists (which are black and swirling, often with a small dust-like particles within it) and normal fog, which is grey in colour and does not commonly contain particles.
