21. Drown
Lastly, the lower quarter of Ringhaven is now half-submerged. The river once flowed gently past the outskirts, but now it has risen, drowning entire streets. Buildings lean, half-sunken, their rooftops jutting like broken teeth from the water. A pale glow rises from beneath the surface at night. Some swear they hear singing. Some say the townsfolk who drank from the poisoned wells still linger in the depths, not dead… just waiting. Not drowned, but kept.
