Lowest class of nobility. A lord manages smaller estates and villages within a duchy and reports to the duke. He's required to field militia when called to war. There are many administrative tasks under his care, like gathering taxes, training the militia, maintaining roads, etc. The title of Lord is given to any son of a lord, regardness of legitimacy, and advantagous marriages are brokered among the lords of other duchies. There are little restrictions on who a Lord can marry and a wife without a title in her own right is called Dame; however if his wife is a Lady, she will retain that title.
