Spacecraft Weapon Overview

VERY ROUGH DRAFT   weapons overview:  

lasers up to ultraviolet, uv lasers are very rare, mostly visible light lasers in use

-point defense: laser point defense, conventional kinetic point defense, sending out missile with casaba howitzer "point defense", lots of defense that is pointy  

missiles: advanced missiles, use conventional rocket engines, missile buses will use nuclear propulsion. highly advanced missiles use atomic fizzers to accelerate.

some older ships have basically naval guns, newer ones have fast firing autocannons but guns in general are never used as main weapons

missiles rein supreme basically   theres also bombardment ships which are just buses for warheads essentially. orbit low over your ground target and throw out warheads (the things inside mirv icbms irl) on precise trajectories so they can deorbit right and blah blah blah orbital mechanics. as for what throws the warheads out im thinking either strong magnets, explosives, or simply they are released with no throwing but the spaceship is already on a trajectory to hit the target and then they just burn back into normal orbit once warheads released. going to look into the irl orion space bomber.
