S-09 Hussar Multirole Fighter

Many say that the less moving parts something has, the less likely it is to break. The S-09 Hussar's mere existence is a blatant violation of this rule. Although it is one of the simplest modern aircraft ever made, it's been plagued by breakdown after breakdown after breakdown. Once, a malfunction occurred with a primary firing controller, releasing all 4 missiles loaded directly into a jet-fuel depot. This isn't a "no one was harmed" incident. 16 died. The disaster resulted in a total safety review of the entire Hussar fleet, costing millions. Miraculously, its nuclear turbofan, one of the first models ever made, has not suffered a single safety accident in 20 years. The reactor also has an option to switch from closed-cycle to open-cycle, where it will begin vomiting huge amounts of radiation, leaving a trail of fallout in its wake. This cruel system was designed to irradiate enemy farmlands and territory in the case of nuclear war. In terms of battlefield role, the Hussar is designed to be a fast multirole fighter, using its speed to penetrate air defense networks and pursue enemy fighters. Though plagued by reliability issues, the Hussar is still one of the most widely used fighters among backline airbases, still used in operations to this day.
