Thesselian Poppies
Thesselian poppies are native to Mechan but were brought over to Alleme and have since spread south into Motanu, growing plentifully in Pageneid meadows. They are dark wine and red in color, and their flowers bear a thick, heady scent that is often used in perfumes. Amongst their Thesselian cultural uses, when the poppies' petals and seeds are brewed together, they create a pain numbing tea that seconds as a poison in heavy doses.

Anatomy
The plant stands around 0.6 m on average except when their heads are bowed with flowers or seed pods. The leaves are soft and furred with a delicate design.
Ecology and Habitats
The Thesselian poppy is quite a resilient plant capable of living in most conditions. However, it prefers warmer weather and low, marshy grounds. It can often be found growing along riverbanks and in seasonal floodplains.
Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
The oils and nectar from the poppy are used to create a high-end perfume favored and worn by nobility. The scent is floral yet musky. When the petals and seeds are brewed together, it creates a bitter tea, a potent anesthetic which can double as a poison if steeped too long or drank in too large of doses. The oil in the seeds slows the heart rate, and it can put a grown adult to sleep and even kill them.
