The Zatchafa Basin swamp

The Zatchafa Basin swamp is a forested wetlands area of massive proportions. Situated in the southern end of the Ranzin forest and the southern tip of the Ranzin River shored up on the south by the Weir Mountains. The river spills out into a transition area allowing the river to split to both sides of the mountains. This ecosystem is vast and full of flora and fauna. A freshwater swamp, this brackish water supports much life and many fresh springs too. This swamp supports a few barbarian tribes who live in the swamp as well as a few tribes of lizardmen. The barbarians are exiled and or refugee Gaxonian’s who have made a life in the dangerous wilds. They are known as “Swamp People” or Cadian’s.   White Cedar, Black Ash, Tupelo, Maple, Spruce, Cypress, Dogwood, Tamarack, Red Mangrove, Swamp Cotton, Spiced Red Gum, are all trees that can be found in the swamp. Fiddlehead ferns, Cattail, swamp lily, briar vines, gnarledthorn, and poison ivy are all widespread in the swamp as well.   Tigers, Weaselpig, boar, Tiger Squirrel, Velocileopard, Flat Tailed Koaber, alligators, lemurs, snakes (to many to name), newts, frogs, Rock Turtle, and salamanders are all common animals but not an exhaustive list by any means.
